Last week, twelve Mentees represented the Diverse Mentoring Initiative's first cohort at PAJ's Annual Retreat in Bedford, PA. On behalf of all attendees, I would like to thank these incredible students for their enthusiasm, professionalism, joy, & engagement. If these young people are the future of the plaintiff's bar, the future looks bright indeed!

Last week VSCP LAW hosted a luncheon for mentees of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice Diverse Mentoring Initiative (DMI) during their summer clerkship program. DMI is a multifaceted program with a goal of placing law students from diverse backgrounds at Plaintiffs' personal injury firms and increasing diversity within the Plaintiff's bar. We enjoyed meeting these great future lawyers to talk our practice and the opportunities of pursuing a career as a Plaintiff's lawyer. Big thanks to Amanda Jonas Lorentson for all of the phenomenal work she does with this program!

Today our Mentees had the rare opportunity to have lunch with all four founding partners of VSCP LAW. Joshua Van Naarden, Gregory Spizer, Ryan Chase, and John Pinto not only provided a unique look into the business of running an elite catastrophic injury firm, but also shared lessons learned from their impressive careers. Thank you so much for hosting our cohort and for investing in the important work of creating a more diverse and representative plaintiffs bar.

We have a full house for today’s Medical Malpractice luncheon led by Kolsby Gordon’s incredible Sarah Schindler & McEldrew Purtell’s dynamic Marcus A. Washington, Esq. Thank you to Kolsby Gordon for hosting our Mentees today, and especially to Marcus & Sarah for sharing your invaluable legal knowledge and professional expertise.

Thank you to Kevin Harden, Jr. for presenting to our Mentees last week on how diversity in race, gender, & socioeconomic backgrounds drives value, results, & outcomes for our clients. I can’t thank Kevin enough for inspiring the next generation of lawyers & current lawyers (like myself) with his passion and excellence.

Today our Mentees spent the afternoon at Levy Baldante Finney & Rubenstein, P.C., learning about the ever challenging, constantly evolving, yet critically important work of sex abuse litigation.
