Great kickstart today attending day 1 of women in product confrence . Loved starting day with open networking and interacting with women in fintech/ banking from different parts of the world. Definitely enjoyed listening to guest speakers. I loved Kate Radway’ session on roadmap recipies was great takeaway on how to always think of product vision by following theme based approach, always ask why and adopt strategic mindset at all levels. This was great reminder that even if organization is more centered on delivery, you can still try to be strategic in everyday decisions. Another topic that resonated with me was” What can products learn from the psychology of human connection” by Evelyn Gosnell. She used great examples of everyday products to leverage human connections when building products. Lastly, it was great to represent and see other fellow Discover Financial Services women sharing stage and sharing importance of vulnerability.

GDC Debrief: Nif Nif Learns the Ropes (and How to Avoid Conference Catastrophes)! We're back from the whirlwind that was GDC, still buzzing from meeting incredible people and showcasing Nif Nif, our game about the spick-and-spaniest piglet around! It was a laugh riot filled with pitches, players, and enough learning experiences to fill a pigsty with knowledge nuggets. Here's the lowdown, straight from the impeccably groomed snout of Nif Nif himself: Pitching Pointers: Freestyling a pitch competition creates some hesitation on the fly, but hey, lesson learned: Practice makes perfect (and avoids roguelike pitch impro next time)! Ageless Appeal: We were surprised! Nif Nif's sparkling clean charm captivated both kiddos and jaded adults. Guess there's something universally adorable about this piglet! The Power of Swag: We underestimated the Nif Nif merch love! People went wild for our pins, proving everyone loves a dapper piglet. Next time, more Nif Nif swag it is! QR Codes: Wishlist Shortcut: Turns out, QR codes are our new best friends! People are more likely to wishlist Nif Nif if they don't have to decipher our title on a napkin stained with questionable conference hall coffee. Calendar Catastrophe! Turns out, our booth meetings were scheduled for the wrong days! We learned the hard way that the expo hall wasn't open to the public until Wednesday. Whoops! Despite the (hilarious) mishaps, GDC was amazing! We learned tons, got fantastic feedback on Nif Nif, and maybe even converted a few folks to the merits of top-notch piglet hygiene.
