New from Security Management: “Security Consultants See Shortcomings in the State of Security Risk Management” Consultants find security professionals do not have as much influence in the organization as they need, and organizations do not perform basic security risk management functions particularly well. https://lnkd.in/dQ2grYwz #security #securityprofession #securitymanagement
I recognise these points ASIS International and its right to call it out and not cover up - but it’s still disappointing it endures.

2moThanks for sharing this ASIS International and @Scott Briscoe, that’s true, I’ve been at both roles, security manager and security consultant, sometimes we, as a security consultants, see in deep more details than any security professional doing common and daily activities. I think, we, as a security professionals, sometimes underestimate the opportunities to be empowered as a point of reference for security matters within an organization. And of course, #ESRM is very necessary in our activities to achieve not only the security goals, but also the strategic objectives of any organization.
