🚗 What's the role of the marketing industry in the US-EU and China EV race? As the European Commission plans to impose tariffs of up to 38% on Chinese electric vehicles from July 4 (up from the current 10%) and the US levies a 100% import tax on Chinese-made EVs (up from 25%), the global #EV landscape is undergoing significant changes. The world needs electric cars, period! #China happens to produce cheap high-quality EVs! Despite geopolitical tensions, it's crucial to acknowledge that our planet requires sustainable transportation solutions. The EV industry has made tremendous progress over the past few years. The marketing industry now must inform and educate the public about new possibilities and drive adoption. I subscribe to the school of thought that EVs should be marketed as a category rather than individual brands—a concept well articulated by Rory Sutherland. If we market EVs as a category rather than focusing on brands, we can avoid geopolitics while changing the attitude and mindset of the consumer. Thoughts? #ElectricVehicles #Sustainability #Marketing #GlobalTrade #Innovation #EVRevolution

Lack of Charging Infrastructure: Myth: There aren't enough charging stations, making it difficult to find a place to charge an EV. Fact: The charging infrastructure is rapidly expanding, with thousands of public charging stations available, and many homeowners install their own chargers. High Costs: Myth: EVs are much more expensive than gasoline cars. Fact: While the initial purchase price can be higher, EVs often have a lower total cost of ownership due to savings on fuel, maintenance, and government incentives.

Fact: Modern EV batteries are designed to last for many years, with most manufacturers offering warranties of 8-10 years or 100,000 miles. Environmental Impact: Myth: EVs are not environmentally friendly because of the emissions associated with electricity production and battery manufacturing. Fact: EVs produce significantly fewer emissions over their lifetime compared to gasoline cars, especially as the electricity grid becomes greener. Battery recycling and sustainable production methods are also improving. Limited Model Availability: Myth: There are very few EV models available.
