Solar & Battery Storage will make up 81% of the new U.S. electric-generating capacity in 2024. As solar costs decrease and efficiency increases, solar is becoming the go-to choice for utilities and consumers. Solar makes up 58% of the new additions, and battery storage is close behind at 23%. The projected addition of 14.3 GW of battery storage capacity will nearly double the existing capacity, reaching 29.8 GW. Texas and California, the frontrunners in renewable energy adoption, will account for 82% of the new battery storage capacity. This decisive shift toward renewables presents a wealth of opportunities for the energy sector. We can expect continued investment, accelerated innovation in clean technologies, and a growing demand for skilled professionals. #environmentalcontent CleanTechnica U.S. Energy Information Administration Gemini Solar

Initially, energy storage systems primarily focused on providing ancillary services to support grid stability. These services include frequency regulation, spinning reserve, and contingency reserve services, which help maintain the grid's frequency within optimal parameters. However, there has been a notable evolution in the utilization of energy storage, with a growing emphasis on energy arbitrage, particularly in solar shifting. Solar shifting involves storing excess solar energy generated during the day and discharging it during periods of high demand or when solar generation is low, such as in the evenings. This strategy helps optimize the use of renewable energy resources and contributes to overall grid reliability. Data from Modo Energy indicates that while ancillary services still play a significant role in revenue generation for Texas battery developers, the proportion of revenue derived from energy shifting has been increasing. As of 2023, energy shifting accounted for only 15 percent of battery revenue, but this figure is expected to rise as the grid evolves and the demand for flexible energy solutions grows. Solar energy offers several advantages: • Renewable Resource: Solar power is a renewable energy source, meaning it is inexhaustible and can be harnessed as long as the sun exists. • Environmentally Friendly: Solar energy production has minimal environmental impact compared to fossil fuels, reducing air and water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. • Low Operating Costs: Once solar panels are installed, operating and maintenance costs are relatively low compared to other forms of electricity generation. • Reduced Electricity Bills: Solar panels can generate electricity for your home, reducing your dependence on traditional utility providers and potentially lowering your electricity bills. • Grid Independence: Solar power allows for decentralized energy production, providing an opportunity for homes and businesses to become more self-sufficient and less reliant on the centralized power grid. • Job Creation: The solar industry has the potential to create jobs in manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, contributing to economic growth. • Technological Advancements: Ongoing advancements in solar technology continue to improve efficiency and reduce costs, making solar energy more accessible and viable. • Low Operating Noise: Unlike some traditional power sources, solar panels operate silently, minimizing noise pollution. • Off-Grid Applications: Solar power is particularly valuable in remote areas where traditional power sources are impractical, providing electricity for off-grid applications. • Long Lifespan: Solar panels have a long lifespan and typically come with warranties, ensuring a reliable and consistent source of energy over many years. #seylanbank #solarpower #solarloan #heyleys Pure Energy Solar SunBeam Technologies Private Limited JADE SOLAR ENERGY PRIVATE LIMITED SUNTASTIC SOLAR PowerGen Renewable Energy douglas & sons (pvt) ltd

I will try to help answer partly. First, most of the Renewable Heat in California would be accomplished by a heat pump (cooling, too). Second, Heat Is Gold is slowly becoming part of the conversation but we are ten years behind the EU. The heat is not included as Renewably sourced if it remains on natural gas or is using a dirty grid source. We still have a lot of electric water heaters. I believe there are a fair amount of natural gas fired water heaters remaining. It is a great question. The US might be 10 years behind but California continues to pave the way, make progress, and show how. California is not ten years behind the EU ;-). Please see: districtenergy.org

The world's fifth-largest economy now regularly generates more renewable energy than it needs. "On 34 of the 42 days to April 18, the US state saw periods where wind, solar and hydro output exceeded total electricity demand" "Over the period, renewables met 61.4% of the state’s demand, on average. The maximum contribution was 122.5%." "And during the evening peak on April 16, another milestone was hit when big batteries discharged 6.2GW of instantaneous power into the grid. Batteries were the single-largest source of supply at the time, covering a fifth of the state’s electricity supply." https://lnkd.in/gjQGEnxY Nick Hedley Progress Playbook

Apollo Solar and Battery announced B.I.G.S.Battery Inverters Generators and Steam Turbine in 2022. Look at BESS in 2024 just like Apollo projected : Batteries output 6.1 GW – California power grid evolving right now by John Fitzgerald Weaver | Solar News Stream | 0 comments Multiple clean energy records have hit in California this spring, one of which happened the evening of April 16 with 6.177 GW of energy storage outputting into the grid at 8.10 PM PST. At the time, energy storage was the greatest output source on CAISO – which represents 90% of the electricity demand in the world’s 5th largest economy. On April 20th, renewables were meeting 153% of electricity demand within the state. California is beginning to clean powergrids outside of it, as it has done in its own special way for so long. What’s interesting, is that this number doesn’t include behind the meter solar power – which is only added to the list in the demand that isn’t showing up – and it’s probably greater than 10 GW at this time of the day.

2023 was another strong year for renewable energy in Australia. Renewable energy provided 39.4 per cent of Australia’s total energy generation in 2023, a 9.7 per cent increase from 35.9 per cent in 2022 and 32.5 per cent in 2021. While there is still a fair way to go to reach the Federal Government’s target of 82 per cent renewables by 2030. Source: 2024 Clean Energy Australia Report
