We just put up our second white paper on the Helix Harbor analytics LinkedIn page https://lnkd.in/etCtTc7Z and the webpage https://lnkd.in/eYW5_XNX. This one deals with confounding variables, a variable that is usually unrecognized and is driving much of the results of the initial data in training. In our case we’re looking at inflammation and how it makes initial results of a model look promising only to give unsatisfactory results in the validation cohort. Finally, we show at least one way to account for confounding variables, that not only compensates for them but actually improves the model.

The book describes #datascience techniques for citizen #data scientists. It is a really great book: exhaustive, well organized, well written, and easy to follow. I have invited prof.
