There are two strategies towards international missions: 1) Sending missionaries/global workers to an area 2) Supporting local churches in an area Many focus on one or the other, but when it comes to the 10/40 window (which runs across north Africa, the Middle East, and much of Asia) it really needs to be a both/and. With 3.2 billion people living in areas with little to no access to the Gospel, we need to be sending and supporting. Sending allows the church to parachute the Gospel into areas where there may not be any known believers. And supporting local churches in these areas eliminates the cultural, language, and sustainability challenges that many who are sent face. I'm thankful for the vision and mission of Radical. Radical's Training Center is focused on helping churches send and send well, and our Global Investment team is focused on helping churches use their resources to support biblically faithful and practically effective work among unreached people groups. Meet Valentina Otmacic, our RECAS Fellow from the Sveučilište u Rijeci / University of Rijeka, who is leading the project "Memory of Good Things: Mobilizing Legacies of Inter-Ethnic Solidarity and Collaboration to Support Culture of Shared Future."   In many post-Yugoslav states, official narratives often focus on violence and ethnonationalism, neglecting the rich history of positive inter-ethnic interactions. Valentina's research aims to uncover how these positive experiences can be leveraged to build a shared future. Today, we commemorate the birth of the first black republic, a nation that boldly declared "no" to the shackles of oppression and became a beacon of hope for the world. Haiti's journey, marked by the triumph over slavery, remains a testament to the strength that arises when a people unite against injustice. The echoes of history reverberate through the challenges faced today as Haiti grapples with the complexities of its past and the struggle for true independence. It's disheartening to witness Haiti's current situation, managed by forces that may not fully grasp the depth of our people's struggles. Unfortunately, Haiti said no first and alone for being isolated in the American continent. As we step into 2024, let this be a year of transformation.
