In a VUCA world, how do organisations ensure their people are equipped and empowered? 🤔 I recently had a fascinating conversation with Lelde Saleniece, an experienced global learning and development specialist based in Latvia, who shared insights on managing L&D during a merger, shaping organisational culture, and adapting to emerging trends. Here are some of the key takeaways: 🤝 Lelde emphasised the importance of aligning L&D strategies, systems and approaches to leadership development between merging companies. A key aspect was the definition of new cultural pillars through workshops, which led to the creation of four culture codes: Achieving Together, Always Genuine, Keep Learning and Customer Driven. 🌱 L&D isn't just about training; it's about shaping and nurturing the desired culture. By translating culture codes into practical programmes, organisations can reinforce the behaviours and values they want to see in their employees. 🚀 Lelde said the future of L&D looks exciting with trends such as AI-powered learning pathways and human-centred leadership development. In addition, she strongly feels that comprehensive approaches to diversity, inclusion and equity are becoming increasingly important. 💼 As the workforce embraces hybrid and flexible working, L&D strategies need to evolve accordingly. There’s a growing preference for instructor-led training, and younger employees, particularly Gen Z, have high expectations for clear learning paths and rapid career progression. 🔄 Gone are the days of rigid programmes. Now it's all about employee-centric, customisable learning experiences. Lelde emphasised empowering individuals to take control of their development journey is the way to fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. In conclusion, L&D isn't just about ticking boxes, it's about nurturing talent, driving growth and setting organisations up for success. Many thanks to Lelde for sharing invaluable insights. #LearningAndDevelopment #CorporateCulture #FutureOfWork #EmployeeEngagement #DiversityAndInclusion #LeadershipDevelopment #AI #CareerGrowth #HybridWork #GenZatWork

With five generations actively participating in today's workforce, managing a multi-generational team and leading them into a digital transformation journey can be daunting. 😩 Unless...unless we harness our individual strengths and learn from each other, rather than focusing on what sets us apart. 🎧 Join the conversation with Ans De Vos, professor at Antwerp Management School and the University of Antwerp and check out our 4-step guide for more valuable insights: https://lnkd.in/eg8zeSHM #digitalHR #digitalworkplace #digitaltransformation #HRtransformation #workforcemanagement

Bridging Theory and Practice: The Crucial Role of a Digital Mindset in Global Mobility Today, I would like to take the opportunity to share some insights from a paper I co-authored with my fantastic colleagues Dr. Jana Bucher and Jürgen Deller and which is published #OpenAccess in the Journal of Management Studies. We've looked at cross-border knowledge transfer in the digital age, a topic I feel is highly relevant for both academia and the corporate world. 🌍💡 While the paper is packed with insights (and, as I said, available Open Access for those who crave the details), I would like to present one core finding here: the indispensable value of a #digitalmindset in leveraging Digital Communication Media for effective international knowledge transfer. But what does having a digital mindset mean? It goes beyond being proficient with digital tools or platforms. A true digital mindset involves a fundamental reevaluation of how we approach communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across borders. It's about recognizing the potential of digital technologies to not just facilitate but actively enhance and innovate the way we transfer knowledge in a global context. This might sound like a given in a digital-first world, but it's a principle that demands much more attention and investment within the #GM field. Cultivating a digital mindset isn't just a task for IT departments! It's a strategic imperative that should be embraced in the entire organization and, particularly, our approaches to global talent management. Investing in a digital mindset means fostering an organizational culture that values #continuouslearning, #adaptability, and #openness to new ways of working. It's about encouraging #curiosity and #experimentation, breaking down silos, and leveraging digital platforms to create more inclusive and dynamic knowledge-sharing environments. How are you cultivating a digital mindset within your Global Mobility and International HRM practices? Share your experiences and strategies below! #technology #MasteringGM #digitalization #futureofwork -- 🌍 Interested in exploring more about Global Mobility, HR, and International HRM? 🔔 Follow me for regular insights and discussions on the latest research, trends, and practices in these dynamic fields! 🌍

How quickly does the future become the present? Never not learning, never not curious. This will be the title of my keynote today being part of the HR Minds conference organized by business factors Deutschland GmbH, taking part the next two days at Schloss Bensberg where HR decision makers will come together. I chose this title as curiosity and learning are two aspects which play a major and continous role in my life. I will talk about why organisations should choose the way of becoming learning organisations and what this actually mean. Is it just the next buzzword of the HR bubble? Well, I doubt it BUT of course – it depends. As always. It depends how serious we take it and if we succeed in transforming our #workforce into a #skillforce. When it comes to learning we quickly talk about systems, tools, platforms or strategies as HR departments - important and right, no doubt. My keynote will go a few steps back talking about the basics of learning cultures and in parallel aims to create new hypothesis when it comes to future-oriented learning. I am convinced there is one question in particular we might address and understand in depth when it comes to learning. How quickly does the future become the present? When is knowledge real knowledge? When is knowledge you have acquired deeply learned, i.e. relevant for you, for your organisation and hence for the planet? #Knowledge is relevant when it gets #shared, when we #dream in #problems and #think in #interdisciplinary worlds. All what I will combine in my keynote and will share more thoughts afterwards. Of course, having my recent trip to #China in mind, and still being overwhelmed and so inspired, I will share my thoughts on what we could learn from China’s learning culture. One for sure: be #quick and don’t wait for change or to be changed. More to share after the keynote. 💡 #futureofwork #futurelearning #curiosity
