The most common question I've received in the first week & a half back at work....What are your thoughts on the market? 🤔 ⭐ The Western Sydney market is resilient & overall optimistic; ⭐ There is a large appetite from passive job seekers to make a move (ie: those still in jobs) - especially at the C-Suite/ 2IC level; ⭐ Finance teams that held back hiring late 23' have come back requiring resources immediately, especially at the Transactional/ Newly Qualified level; ⭐ M&A activity & continuously shifting funding models have placed strong emphasis on upskilling revenue teams within the "for purpose" sector; ⭐ Classic Manufacturing Costing skillsets are in demand across the Industrial/ Infrastructure sectors, further emphasizing internal cost pressures & the need for alleviation. There has been (and continues to be) significant investment in Infrastructure around the West - from Marsden Park, Bradfield City, the Western Sydney Airport & the Leppington Town Centre build. "What do you look for in a prospect?" "I also would be interested in how they resolve their problem with a colleague or boss and whether have they done it amicably. Have they been able to show diplomacy? How have they shown sensitivity towards the issue and resolved the problem? These skills and character traits tell me a candidate has the skills to come into a workplace and work around those challenging aspects. I would typically only attend the final stage of the interview process and throughout this part; I’m gauging their personality. They have similar academic performances, they have gone through similar professional routes - the ‘Big Four’ for e.g - often coming out from an audit perspective. Their experiences don’t vary that much, so the questions I would ask are based on their experience in innovating certain aspects of their work. Have they challenged the way they do things? Have they thought of making their process more efficient? Do they seem motivated with a bit of get-up-and-go? For me, these personal traits are the differentiator between success and failure in an interview. I want to see how people have responded to a problem and found a different or new solution to it." My new vision encompasses my whole life, not just the business. I'm still tweaking the wording but it definitely feels more me. It aligns with the things I really do want and it will make me absolutely know where I am headed. Amending my vision also means I am amending my services and offering. Not right away, not a massive change, but a few tweaks to bring out my magic and to work on what I love, not just want I've fallen into. Because this has been the story of my career - I 'fell' into admin work 20 years ago. All because the council didn't think I would make a good child & family worker...I KNOW I would have been a fantastic person for that role, but I took the admin position in the team, 1 year later was made office manager and the rest is history! What I do know is that without the last 20 years experience, I wouldn't be able to do my job now, I wouldn't have the skills to run my business, deliver excellence to clients and have the confidence to tweak my offering. So although this wasn't my vision all those years ago, I have the power to create a vision for the next 20 years, one that aligns with me and my magic. How much local, state, and federal funding, tax credits, or other government benefits or incentives did the project receive? 2. What is the affordability period for each project? Is the affordability period permanent and in perpetuity? 3. What guarantees exist have your local, state, and federal government officials obtained in writing that rents will not go up or that tenants will not be displaced or evicted after the "affordability period expires?
