This may look like thousands of Girl Scout cookie boxes to you, but I see: 🌟 A group of committed adults (plus many others not pictured here) supporting a troop of 50+ scouts 🌟These adults all have work and family responsibilities 🌟 They all volunteer different amounts of time, resources, connections and expertise to the troop Without these volunteers our troop might not be: 🌟 A safe space for scouts of all identities 🌟 A troop where you can come as you are and when you can 🌟 A Girl/Youth-led experience guided by adults (instead of run by adults) 🌟 A place of opportunity for many who would otherwise lack exposure, money or the logistical abilities to participate How do you volunteer your time or expertise? Typically, the volunteer journey at PMI begins while preparing for the PMP certification or some other PMI certifications. It’s there that you discover volunteering and how you can make a difference by supporting others while enhancing your project management skills. The next step is becoming a chapter leader, where you’re tasked with managing an organization – an incredible experience, especially if you’re not yet part of a board at your workplace! It’s a journey filled with challenges and learning that I highly recommend undertaking, as it impacts the lives of others whom you can put names and faces to, as well as your own life.
