Many don't know this about me... 2016-2020 was one BIG wake up call 7️⃣ Surgeries 4 areas of my body From 2 different accidents ---15 years apart > 4 years of physical therapy > 6 physical therapists 👩🔬 3 hospitals 👩🔬 3 surgeons👨⚕️ 1 near-life death experience I reframed: ➡ my fear of living to live my fire ➡ my pain into purpose April 4, 2019 an older gentleman had an attack (still unknown) from the time he moved his car from Park to Drive and stepped his foot on the gas He drove 300 feet Through 4 lanes of traffic Down an embankment Into a brick building Where I was laying on the bed, minding my business, doing my physical therapy <3 feet to the right of where the car entered The new awareness of life and legacy haven't left me - still. You never know when something could happen that could change your life and the life of your loved ones in an instant. This event and many other have shaped the path in bringing Equati to life. Who is Gen C? I have to admit that I have been slightly obsessed with this topic since Diane Hessan posted about it a few weeks ago. Per Diane's post, C Space and Sago have teamed up to delve into the defining characteristics of today's 14 - 21-year-olds, who went through their formative pre-teen and teen years during COVID. My three children are Gen C'ers, and this study opened my eyes to the impact of COVID on their personalities, their values, their lifestyle choices, and so many other dimensions. The report highlights four characteristics of Gen C, and while I see all of them reflected in my kids, one of them stands out to me: Gen C is resilient. A quote from one of the respondents drove this home for me: "I think the biggest lesson I learned from Covid was that life is gonna just kind of smack you in the face sometimes, and you gotta learn how to just deal with it and adapt to it.” There are so many gems like this that made lots of tiny lightbulbs go off in my head as I read it -- both as a parent, and as a business person. I encourage anyone with kids Gen C and any organizations who serve or sell to Gen C today or in the future to check it out. Which of the four characteristics do you most relate to or see in this generation in your experience?
