Our purpose at Maersk is to improve life for all by integrating the world. This reflects our ambition to make a positive impact on the world as a corporate citizen. While it's a simple statement, it is one that goes deep. How we live out this purpose is a big part of it. This is our 'how' - introducing green technology in this industry at a scale never before seen. Ane Maersk is just the first of several large commercial vessels that speaks to this commitment. We don't just connect our customers to markets around the world; we do it while intentionally leaning into our commitments on sustainability. In this way, we seek to improve lives not just in the short term, but as a sustainable investment for years to come. #allthewaytozero

🛳 Her name is ANE MÆRSK 🎉. Our first large methanol-enabled vessel was named today at a ceremony in the shipyard of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea. The vessel is named after Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla, the Chair of the A.P. Moller Foundation and A.P. Moller Holding. Ane’s eldest granddaughter Astrid served as godmother and christened the vessel by breaking a champagne bottle over the bow 🍾. The ceremony was hosted by our Chairman Robert Maersk Uggla.   The first ANE MÆRSK 🛳 Consistent with the tradition of naming Maersk vessels after members of the founding family. Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla is the granddaughter of A.P. Møller, who founded A.P. Moller - Maersk in 1904. A.P. Møller was succeeded by Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller, the father of Mrs. Uggla. It is the first time that a Maersk vessel has been named after Ane Uggla, and thus our new vessel will not only be the first large container vessel sailing on green methanol, it will also be the first ANE MÆRSK.   Vessel fun facts: 📏350 meters long, 53.3 meters wide 📦16,592 TEU (twenty-foot-equivalent). 🔋 The engine is a Dual Fuel type, meaning it can run on methanol as well as traditional marine fuels. The same applies to the auxiliary engines. MAN Energy Solutions   L-R Front Row/Centre   Kisun Chung Vice Chairman & CEO HD Hyundai, Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla the Chair of the A.P.
