🌟 Monthly Highlights: August 2024 🌟 I'm excited to summarise the events I participated in this month filled with different expertise, to inspire and motivate others to explore diverse and inspiring career journeys. 1. Amazon Early Career Event with Amazon Web Service I recently attended the Amazon Early Career event at Amazon Head Quarters arranged by Everything D&I, and it was an incredibly insightful experience! The event provided a glimpse into the "Day in the Life" of an Amazon employee, showcasing their dynamic and fast-paced environment. I also learned about the internship application process, which was extremely helpful for anyone looking to kickstart their career at Amazon. One of the key takeaways was the emphasis on taking risks to grow – not only for personal development but also as a way to contribute to the company’s success. It’s clear that at Amazon, stepping out of your comfort zone is encouraged and rewarded! This takeaway has inspired me to venture deeper into my part-time work in the insurance industry and accept any opportunities given to me as you will never know if you would enjoy them. 2. Perfecting Your Summer Internship Application with J.P. Morgan Chase I also had the opportunity to attend the "Perfecting Your Summer Internship Application" event with J.P. Morgan Chase, organised by the Social Mobility Foundation. This session was invaluable in improving my CV and standing out in the competitive internship application process. Additionally, I gained a clearer understanding of the application process specifically tailored for J.P. Morgan Chase, which will greatly assist me as I pursue career opportunities in the tech industry. A big thank you to the Social Mobility Foundation, J.P. I am very excited to announce that i have attended Amazon Campus Summer series, 🔵One thing you enjoyed about the event; The Amazon Campus Summer Series Event 2025 was highly informative, offering valuable insights into Amazon’s internship opportunities, application tips, and the company’s work culture. The virtual format made it easily accessible to students from diverse locations, and the interactive sessions with Amazon recruiters and current interns provided a clear understanding of what the company is looking for in candidates. 🔴One of the things you’ve taken away from the event; One major takeaway from the Amazon Campus Summer Series Event 2025 is the significance of early preparation for the application process. The event highlighted that Amazon’s application process is highly competitive, and starting early—by researching roles, networking with recruiters, and practicing technical and behavioral interview questions—can make a big difference. This emphasizes the need to be proactive, not only in applying but also in understanding Amazon’s expectations well in advance to better position yourself as a strong candidate. #AmazonSummerSeries

📆 One Year Ago Today: A pivotal moment in my career journey - receiving my first ever internship offer. It was a turning point that debunked a common myth: "If you don't secure an internship during the Fall Surge, you're out of luck." I'm living proof that this isn't true. 👊 Never Lose Hope: Just two weeks before that life-changing email, I was rigorously applying to every internship I could find. They say perseverance pays off, and indeed it does. The more you put yourself out there, the higher the chance of success. It's all about determination and a bit of faith. 📩 The Unexpected Email: Then, out of the blue, a recruiter from Amazon reached out. To move forward with my application was beyond my wildest dreams, especially considering I had no prior work or internship experience. Landing a role at a MAANG company seemed like a distant dream. 🙏 Faith and Persistence: My journey taught me the power of keeping faith and persistently striving towards your goals. They say it only takes one company to take a chance on you. For me, that company was Amazon. ⏱️ A Swift Process: From application to interviews and finally the offer, the entire process spanned just 10 days - the fastest in my experience. It was a stark contrast to some companies that don't even extend the courtesy of a rejection letter. 🔍 Looking Ahead: With invaluable experience gained, I'm now exploring Full Time opportunities in Technical Program Management, Systems Engineering, or Hardware Engineering. Today, I had the pleasure of attending the Amazon Campus Summer Series Event! This invite-only event specifically designed for students and recent graduates provided unique insights into Amazon’s culture, career opportunities and a chance to network with current employees. Alongside the extremely helpful tips on the application process, what I found interesting was hearing about the daily working lives of panelists Rebecca Bellis, Giacomo Miotto and Carmen Ercoreca Alexis and their diverse journeys into securing a role at Amazon. Most importantly of all, I have come to understand that any experience, whether big or small, is useful in the enhancement of transferable skills. 💡 Interview Tips: Be prepared but don’t overprepare. Being authentically yourself is far more valuable than having a several scripted responses. After all, an interview is merely a two-way formal conversation to find the right fit for both you and Amazon. Looking forward to fast-tracking my application for Amazon’s 2025 Internships and Placements! A big thanks to Sophie Neely and Amazon for the invitation to such an insightful event. As I am getting into the swing of things here on campus, It is the perfect time to reflect on my summer. This past month, I wrapped up an eventful summer as an Area Manager Intern at LGB5, an Amazon Sort Center in San Bernadino, CA. I got the chance to spend just over 2 months at LGB5, diving deep and immersing myself by learning about Amazon's culture, standards, values, and leadership principals. I also was able to experience and navigate the intense demands of Prime Week, one of the highest volume weeks of the year. Since day one, I have been challenged continuously throughout the internship, pushing me to grow in ways I could not have imagined previously. Amazon's internship scope differs from many other companies. All Area Manager interns are expected to spend their time learning the equivalency of their full time role, and work on a continuous improvement project. My project focused on improving a key metric that represented waste in many different ways for how full outbound trucks are. I was able to identify key ways to reduce this KPI's trend and save the site significant money. I spent many hours deep diving the problem on the floor with all stakeholders, wiki pages, videos, working with the middle mile network's ACES team and process specialists, and other managers and interns at other sort centers across the US. I ended up launching an Excel/VBA tool at the site that will give granular visibility to a process feeding the metric that was not easily accessible previously. After presenting my findings and suggestions, it was clear that I had not only deeply understood the warehouse operations but was also recognized by leadership as the go-to Subject Matter Expert (SME) on several key processes and metrics regarding outbound shipping waste that my project encapsulated. This experience was very rewarding. I was the sole Area Manager intern at my site, being without the usual peer support network, I learned to navigate the complexities of a warehouse environment independently while mastering new skills and demonstrating care, problem solving, and passion at every turn. A huge thank you to my manager, Han Byeol Chang and site lead Ken Zhang, and everyone at LGB5 for welcoming me and making this experience immeasurable. I'm proud to have contributed to a successful intern project that brought new ideas to the site. I have just received my return offer for a full time position! I am excited to announce a recent opportunity that I was invited to by Amazon. I had the opportunity to attend The Amazon Campus Summer Series where is an invite only initiative, designed to provide both students and recent gratitudes with invisible information and advice on various internships, placement opportunities and also graduate opportunities. These internship, placement and graduate opportunities range from Business Development, Account Management, Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Marketing, Human Resources (HR) and also Finance Roles. This is a unique change to gain insight into the Amazon culture, network with managers and leaders, and also fast-track your career through Amazon processes. I would like to convey my gratitude to Rebecca Bellis, Giacomo Miotto and also Carmen Ercoreca Alexis for being such insightful and inspiring panelist’s through their informative tips and advice they had given to students ans graduates. Time flies when you're learning and growing! 💡 ✈ I've already approached the midpoint of my operations internship at Amazon NCL1, and it feels like just yesterday I was deciding on universities, programs, and career paths after graduation. Now, as I'm stepping into the second half of this amazing internship and need to start thinking about my career after, I find myself pondering my future once again. But then, I realise the real value is in the present. Instead of constantly worrying about what's next, I'm focused on embracing every opportunity this internship offers. I'm soaking up knowledge from the incredible team and enjoying the journey, growing with each new experience. To my fellow young professionals: let's make the most of where we are right now.
