🌈 As Pride Month comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the importance of inclusivity in the workplace. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am grateful to be part of a company that values and celebrates diversity. 🌟 At Accenture, inclusivity is not just a buzzword; it's a core value that is reflected in our policies, practices, and culture. I wanted to share that I have recently completed the Inclusive Mindset program(my first verified achievement from PwC). I found the program to be informative and eye-opening. I am now more aware of the importance of diversity & inclusion, and how intersectionality, unconscious bias, privilege and micro-inequities can potentially impact individual experiences. . I look forward to applying the principles I learned in the program in my daily interactions. #pwcproud

Being misgendered daily is exhausting. This Pride Month, not a day has gone by where this hasn't been the case. It’s a constant reminder that I am not being seen for who I truly am. Each time it happens, I’m faced with the uncomfortable dilemma: do I correct the person and risk confrontation, or do I let it slide and compromise my sense of self? Pronouns are more than just words; they’re an essential part of our identities. When someone uses the correct pronouns, it’s a simple yet powerful way of showing respect and recognition. It acknowledges who we are and affirms our place in the world. As we celebrate the progress made during Pride Month, let’s not forget that there is still work to be done. Let’s make a conscious effort to use correct pronouns, to listen and learn from each other, and to create spaces where everyone feels valued and respected.

I’m absolutely delighted and honoured to be recognised among the top 10 in this year’s EMpower Top Executives list. It’s fantastic to feature alongside others who are doing all they can to accelerate the pace of positive change, including my colleagues Jonathan Holt and Indy Dhami. I’m also proud to see Ugochi Onwuanibe continue to shine, recognised for the second year running as one of EMpower’s Future Leaders.   Many of you will know that I’m particularly passionate about fairness for all and unleashing the potential for all historically under-represented groups. In this regard, we have done a lot of work in amplifying and celebrating Black talent, seeing more representation to senior levels and more success for the community in general. Over the years I have met and worked with so many brilliant individuals, and I know that we’re just scratching the surface of the potential that’s around us. This is why it’s important that lists like this exist, to shine a light on the incredible efforts that are taking place to ensure that these ambitions become reality. Kudos to Suki Sandhu OBE and the entire team at EMPower and YouTube for all of their hard work in this regard.   There’s still a way to go, and research has proven that more diversity leads to better business outcomes, so it’s more than just the right thing to do. I truly believe that one of the most effective ways that businesses can accelerate this change, is by ensuring that those from historically underrepresented groups have equal access to quality experiences and opportunities. 🌟 Are you a Champion for Integrity in in the EDI Space? 🌟 As an inclusion facilitator, I'm deeply committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. It's a journey that requires courage, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to values and ethics. I encounter a situations where client and peers push boundaries, I am steadfast however that I stay true to some sacred values and ethics to the very best of my ability. People often seek recommendations, introductions, my thoughts and perspectives and I’m happy to provide these with the understanding of cooperation and reciprocity. On occasion though that good will and authenticity is missing from others, and this compromises the very principles I stand for. It led me to ponder a crucial question: Is it more noble to stand up for your values and ethics, or to appease a client and peers at the expense of integrity? In this challenging moment, I choose the path of integrity. I firmly believe that meaningful change in the realm of inclusion can only be achieved by staying true to the principles we hold dear. It's a reminder that our role as inclusion champions goes beyond simply providing solutions, ideas and opportunities, and taking credit for ourselves - it's about being guardians of the change we wish to see in the world. While it may be difficult to navigate these waters, I firmly believe that by staying true to our values, we not only maintain our integrity but also set an example for our clients and peers. True transformation stems from authentic commitment to inclusion. It’s not me against you, it’s us against societal systems and hierarchy’s that need to change and it's a journey worth every challenge.
