Our reconditioned robots offer a shiny sustainable outlook for a German motorcycle manufacturer.    Motorcycles evoke emotions and appearance matters. Gleaming tanks, polished chrome and fine powder coatings create that irresistible allure. And for good reason, manufacturers pay particular attention to the painting of body panels, suspension struts and load-bearing elements.    For a German motorcycle manufacturer, our robots have been the unsung heroes behind the scenes, working tirelessly to achieve the desired finish. After more than eight years of continuous operation, they’ve now been replaced by reconditioned robots. This was accomplished in a revolving swap, where robots that had been refurbished at our Robotics repair and overhaul center in Friedberg were configured and programmed in advance for its customer using RobotStudio®. The focus on sustainable standards employed in this process align well with our own circularity model, which aims to minimize waste and maximize resource efficiency by recycling, reusing and regenerating resources.     Reconditioned robots turned out to be the right choice to preserve sustainable and efficient operations, while minimizing production downtime.    Learn more about this story here: https://lnkd.in/eZ4A42vm     #Automation #ABBAutomation #Robots #ABBRobots #Manufacturing

We're pushing the boundaries of electrification technology though our partnership with NASCAR. We are joining forces with NASCAR to form the ABB NASCAR Electrification Innovation Partnership, which will explore high-performance electric racing, electrification infrastructure and energy education. In addition, the ABB NASCAR EV Prototype was launched Saturday at the 2024 NASCAR Chicago Street Race. NASCAR developed the vehicle in collaboration with OEM partners, Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota, the track-tested, electrified stock car has three STARD UHP 6-Phase motors, a 78-kWh liquid-cooled battery and a powertrain that can produce 1,000 kW at peak power. We have also become a founding partner of NASCAR IMPACT, a platform that drives sustainability initiatives across the sport. As a key strategic technology and sustainability partner we will help NASCAR reduce its own carbon operating footprint to net-zero by 2035. We are delighted to announce that FieldComm Group has awarded Ethernet-APL physical-layer conformity certification to our FSS400 Swirl and FSV400 Vortex flowmeters. Following a comprehensive series of tests from FieldComm Group, the global standards-based organization, these are now the first the first flowmeters on the market with this important certification. The certificate enables us to roll out APL technology to other instrumentation at a faster pace. It is also key to assure customers of our product quality and interoperability in industrial communication networks. Both us and FieldComm Group are founding members of the APL project, and have worked on technology development, standardization, product testing and certification since 2015, along with other companies and organizations.
