💡 As a Technical Engineer for Air Intake Filtration Industry, ensuring the optimal performance of filtration systems is crucial for maintaining product lifespan and reducing the frequency of compressor offline washing. Continuous monitoring and improvement of filter performance are key aspects of this case study. Here are the fundamental aspects of filtration technology that need focus during the product development stage:- i. Material Selection Choosing the right material for filters is vital. The material must be able to withstand the operational environment, including temperature, humidity, and the presence of corrosive substances. ii. Differential Pressure Across the Filter Differential pressure is a critical parameter that impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of the filtration system. Pressure drop management to have lower pressure drop across the filter indicates less resistance to airflow, which can improve energy efficiency. High differential pressure can lead to reduced airflow and increased energy consumption, affecting the overall performance of the system. iii. Selection of Filter Efficiency Filter efficiency determines the effectiveness of the filter in capturing particles and contaminants. Different applications may require different levels of filtration efficiency. Higher efficiency filters often have a higher pressure drop.
