Jakarta Persistence (JPA) is the standard for mapping Java objects to databases. JPA provides several advantages over traditional data access methods like Java Database Connectivity (JDBC). In this hands-on course, Kesha Williams discusses these advantages and acquaints you with the basics of JPA, entity management, transaction management, and relationship mapping. Kesha then discusses more advanced topics like inheritance mapping strategies, Jakarta Persistence Query Language (JPQL), the Criteria API, and persistence providers. She explains how inheritance functions when working with mappings, classes, and tables. She also demonstrates how to create queries using JPQL as well as native queries.

    Great introduction to basic JPA concepts. Clear explanations with good examples. Must have for any Hibernate developer.

    The course narration is very monotone. The content is only exposed and not built-together like many other courses, this leads to several moments when the viewer isn't aware of new attributes. To make matters worse, the Exercise File content was a total mess. It didn't contain the Class files, only the challenges files, and even so, the beginning of a new challenge file doesn't contain the end of the previous one. Another great disappointment was the Q&A for this course which doesn't get any attention from the creators. At the moment I wrote this review, there were question from 3 months before without answers. Likewise, mine didn't receive any answer.
