The HNAH Enhanced Enterprise Regulatory Transformation programme office (“EERTP”) is a special unit operating under the Office of the US CEO with a Board mandate to provide comprehensive assessment and monitoring of all regulatory programs across HSBC USA, coordination and acceleration of existing remediation or risk mitigation efforts across all US global businesses and functions, and proactive identification and mitigation of forward-looking regulatory risks.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director of the Enhanced Enterprise Regulatory Transformation Programme and is highly visible to HNAH CEOs and HNAH ExCo. The job holder has substantial autonomy and authority and ensures that tough questions are raised and answered in a constructive environment focused on business success.

As our Vice President, Enhanced Enterprise Regulatory Transformation Programme you will:

  • Support effective formal and informal EERTP programe governance, including secretariat for SteerCo and Working Group meetings and ensuring supporting MI is complete, accurate, and timely
  • Prepare and produce clear, accurate, and timely informal and formal program reporting appropriate for various stakeholder audiences, including regulators, the HNAH Board, ExCo, and RMM, and Group
  • Professional representation of program progress, status and issues to internal and external stakeholder groups including the HNAH Board, ExCo, and RMM, consultancies, and industry bodies
  • Provide additional support as needed to help Accountable Executives minimize execution risk and to maintain clear and effective program oversight and governance
  • Facilitate effective and collaborative partnerships with various HSBC Group colleagues to ensure adherence and alignment with Group Standards, clear communication and escalation of US relevant issues, and to support Group understanding of applicable US policies, laws, regulations, themes, trends, and issues
  • Support structured efforts to collect, assess, and respond to internal and external information sources to detect new or emerging trends of issues from regulatory, supervisory, industry, or internal HSBC US or Group sources, including regulatory agency communications and publications, direct and indirect feedback from bank examiners, industry publications and analysis from law firms, consultancies, and HSBC reporting and systems such as HELIOS, REGMAP, Rapid-2, and others
  • Help drive pro-active thematic reviews, partnering with existing 1/2/3 LOD executive management and testing and control functions, to proactively assess business and functional operations for effective internal governance and controls, assess inherent and residual risks and mitigants, and to determine appropriate remedial actions needed if any. Requires strong partnership with Internal Audit, the Chief Control Office, Non-Financial Risk, Regulatory Liaison Office, and first and second line Assurance units

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $141,300.00 and $211,900.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Well developed capacity to process high volumes of complex information and synthesise key themes and issues
  • In depth understanding of the US Financial Services regulatory landscape
  • In depth understanding of the Group, HSBC US business policies, products, people, strategy, controls, and practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with highly developed capacity to influence senior teams
