This full-time, on-site opportunity is immediately available and based in San Bernardino County, California.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the national executive leader responsible for planning, developing, and executing the organization's strategic communications and public relations.
  • Act as a primary leadership representative, engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with internal Government Affairs and oversee the strategic development and execution of all corporate communications, encompassing investor-related communications and presentations, media relations, and public relations/community engagement initiatives.
  • Manage the corporate team responsible for a wide range of functions including internal and executive communications, cultivating strategic partnerships, driving marketing and business development initiatives, managing public relations and media relations efforts, handling crisis communications, overseeing digital marketing strategies, managing corporate sponsorships, coordinating Foundation activities, directing website development, and shaping social media strategies.
  • Partner closely with hospital leadership throughout the system to propel the organization toward its strategic objectives.
  • Function as the organization's primary spokesperson in direct collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Indirectly oversee the hospitals’ communications, marketing, and business development teams through a dotted line to this leadership role.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated success in communications executive leadership roles within a multisite, multistate hospital setting.
  • Proven experience in navigating large, complex (matrixed) national health systems.
  • Must be knowledgeable in acute care and healthcare facilities.
  • Demonstrated success in effectively communicating with senior-level executives, board members, physician leaders, elected officials, and key community stakeholders.
  • Possess advanced organizational, communication, planning, and leadership abilities, coupled with a diplomatic approach to fostering positive relationships across the entire health system.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in government relations, including a track record of collaborating with elected officials and invested parties are essential.
  • Exceptional coaching and mentoring abilities to guarantee the effectiveness of both the corporate and hospital marketing communications teams.
  • Established track record in managing investor relations.
  • Network or prior engagement with national news media in major markets is highly beneficial.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is required; Masters in a related discipline is preferred.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This career opportunity offers a strong salary of $200,000 to $250,000+ per year plus discretionary bonuses.
