Our client is a global alternative Investment Firm currently seeking an SVP to lead their growing International Tax Team, this role is in individual contributor (to start). Ideal individual will serve as an international tax advisor and Tax SME partnered with various Department Heads with regards to international tax planning initiatives, international mergers and acquisition, US international tax compliance, quarterly and

year-end provision computations, and other special projects.


Client is seeking a dynamic proven tax professional with broad tax expertise, and ability to design/develop and improves tax process efficiencies, with ability to foresee and operational tax deficiencies with respect to firm primary business.



Job description/Responsibilities


  • Partner with business leaders, global tax, finance, treasury, legal teams, and external advisers to advise on and execute tax aspects of various business initiatives, tax planning and tax operational matters.
  • Oversee and manage the non-US income tax compliance filing obligations and liaise with external resources to ensure timely reporting.
  • Preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for all non-US entities in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Perform technical research and draft tax memorandums to summarize complex international tax issues
  • Assist with the development and implementation of tax planning strategies that align with business objectives through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Deal Team on tax structuring .
  • Work closely with cross functional business partners to develop and maintain a deep understanding of legal entity operations, transaction flows, risks and functions.
  • Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including estimates and planning, for the public & private entities.
  • Write tax technical and non-technical tax research and compliance memos.
  • Streamline the international tax provision processes resulting in increased efficiencies
  • Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that may impact the firm’s tax positions
  • Advising Management Team on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden
  • Assist with special projects, as needed


Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Tax or Accounting
  • CPA/MBA and/or MST not required (strongly preferred)
  • Minimum eight years of recent broad experience in international corporate taxation or eight years of broad experience in M&A or federal tax and a desire to move into international corporate taxation
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and commercially - in email, reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Experience working with team members across geographies, collaborating and building relationships with stakeholders in commercial, financial and legal/compliance functions.
  • Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills
