Job Description

Don’t need all to have all 3 public cloud or programming languages:

• Experience utilizing a public cloud sector (Azure, AWS, GCP) – Azure is preferrable but fine with either AWS or GCP
• Scripting experience with modern scripting languages (python, GO, PowerShell) and tools (versioning, GitHub, Ansible) as well as experience utilizing REST API’s, JSON, and YAML
• Nutanix is nice-to-have.
• VMware and Acropolis Hypervisors nice-to-have
  
  

Fortinet is preferred but another NextGen firewall is ok. Palo-alto is fine. Just not one of the more antiquated ones.

Sr network engineer – demonstratable exp in delivery in network and security projects. 70% network and 30% security responsibilities. Not looking only for a security engineer. Heavy Network with solid security exp.

Having firewall experiences. VPN related to running and independently running security projects for compliance purposes. Automation exp in terms of one scripting language between python, GO, PowerShell). Promote automation on his team.

70% of networking engineering which includes design, implementation, and operation. He leads a level 3 support and 30% of his time will be reviewing firewall and implementing network security related projects.

Client related initiatives across CarMax – will be driven by compliance related to PCI and Sox.

Included design, implementation, documentation of major network initiatives. Including protocols and wireless technologies and traditional networking qualities, cloud, automation. Healthy mix of a lot of technologies.

Reason for needing four individuals is because he doesn’t have a lot of senior engineers who can lead projects. Start date in 2-3 weeks and brining candidates by end of March. Possibility of conversion – best for them and best for CarMax.

Senior software network engineer with expertise in Networking who will be responsible for implementing highly scalable solutions on the Microsoft Azure Public Cloud and On-Premises platforms. This process includes continuous delivery, optimization, monitoring, infrastructure design and implementation, release management and supporting the end-to-end release process. As a member of the team, you will work alongside developers and reliability teams to ensure site reliability and all releases seamlessly move from development through staging and into production.

The Day To Day

• Responsible for driving operations excellence by implementing strategies for continuous integration and delivery.
• Operate, support, and improve our tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management.
• Drive increased efficiency across our agile product delivery teams, eliminating duplication and leveraging product and technology reuse.

Position Requirements – What We Are Really Looking For

• Comprehensive understanding and experience deploying network services and protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, LAN Switching Technologies, Next-Gen Firewalls (Fortinet preferred) and Load Balancing (F5 preferred), etc.
• Experience utilizing a public cloud sector (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Prior experience working with industry networking tools: monitoring (Splunk, NetScout, Zabbix), management (Prime, ISE, Aruba Central) inventory management (Netbox, IPAM), DNS solutions.
• Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Scripting experience with modern scripting languages (python, GO, PowerShell) and tools (versioning, GitHub, Ansible) as well as experience utilizing REST API’s, JSON, and YAML
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly secure infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with multiple hardware/software platforms such as:
• Cisco
• Fortinet
• F5
• NetScout
• Nutanix (or other hyper converged technologies)
• VMWare and Acropolis Hypervisors
• Strong teamwork skills, ability to learn quickly, excellent written and spoken communication.
• Experience with agile methodologies.
  

Technical Knowledge Required.

• Associate degree/College Diploma /Equivalent Technical Certifications and/or Experience.
• At least 3 years demonstrated experience providing desktop support in an Active Directory environment.
• Experience imaging desktops.
• Experience providing remote support.
• Experience in help desk (plus).
