Overview Of The Role

Pelago is looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of Marketing Operations to spearhead the development and execution of strategic operational initiatives, fostering collaboration and streamlining processes across the marketing organization (B2B commercial marketing and B2B2C growth marketing). The Senior Director of Marketing Operations will report to the CMO and will be a technical leaning leader that owns our full marketing tech stack and oversees marketing analytics and digital operations to ensure seamless data collection and analysis which will inform marketing strategies. This role will collaborate with the Engineering team, setting the roadmap and priorities for technical resources to ensure seamless data flow and technical alignment with marketing goals, as well as partner with revenue operations to ensure strategies are driving business growth.

In this role, you will...

Data Management

  • Oversee the management and accuracy of marketing data, in partnership with the central data team, ensuring it is collected, analyzed, and utilized to drive decision-making
  • Oversee the development of reporting dashboards in Looker, bringing in multiple external reporting sources
  • Optimize and maintain marketing technology stack to support data-driven marketing efforts

Budget Management

  • Manage and optimizing the marketing budget to maximize ROI
  • Provide Regular reporting on budget utilization and performance metrics
  • Manage member enrollment forecasting operations

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrate proficiency in HTML and data manipulation techniques
  • Showcase experience in building lead scoring models
  • Demonstrate an understanding of landing page CMS and email platforms
  • Enable marketing campaigns through a variety of technologies
  • Showcase experience with data visualization tools and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Possess a deep understanding of the marketing technology landscape and stay updated on industry trends
  • Possess a curiosity for solving complex problems with technology and process
  • Familiarity with programming languages a plus (e.g., Python, SQL)

Effective Communication And Stakeholder Buy-In

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and product, to ensure alignment and effective communication
  • Cultivate strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, gaining buy-in from decision-makers through effective communication and strategic persuasion
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives

Team Leadership In a Technical Environment

  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals in a variety of areas
  • Manage team of digital marketing, design and web development
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and innovation within the team

The background we're looking for...

  • 10+ years of proven experience in a marketing operations leadership role with a technical focus
  • In-depth understanding of marketing technology, data science, and analytics
  • Understanding of CMS and HTML
  • Proficient in marketing automation tools, CRM, and other relevant software including, but not limited to Google Analytics, Wordpress, Salesloft, Hubspot, Salesforce, Iterable, Amplitude
  • Strong data manipulation skills, familiarity with programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

The provided range reflects our US target salary range for this full-time position, which is part of our broader total compensation package, including stock options, comprehensive benefits, and incentive pay applicable to eligible roles. Individual pay within the range will vary based on a variety of factors like role-related experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business factors. At Pelago, we are committed to an equitable and fair pay philosophy and review total compensation for our employees at least twice a year.
