Job Summary

The International Tax Senior Director will play a critical role in all areas of international tax. The Salesforce international tax team is a diverse group of over 20 seasoned professionals located in San Francisco, Seattle, Dublin, Singapore, Hyderabad, Tokyo, and Sao Paolo. The team manages facets of the entire tax life cycle from tax planning and implementation, reporting and compliance, and ultimately controversy. The Senior Director will work closely with, and report to, the VP of International Tax, and is expected to demonstrate thought leadership and the ability to implement key tax strategies and initiatives. The role will come with tremendous opportunity to work on high impact & value projects and a path for significant leadership growth. The position will be based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with VP of International Tax to critically assess tax opportunities and risk, provide recommendations to EVP of Global Tax, and ultimately to complete tax planning strategies.
  • Provide thought leadership and collaborate closely with the international tax team in all regions.
  • Work closely with the global tax tax team (+75 professionals), including the provision, compliance, indirect tax, and controversy teams to provide appropriate support and leadership.
  • Conduct research and analysis in all areas of international tax, including both US international tax (e.g., GILTI, FDII, Subpart F, FTCs, Reorgs, Repatriation) and non-US (e.g., Pillar I and II, OECD pronouncements, various country-specific issues).
  • Monitor legislative developments in the US and abroad and provide recommendations and strategies as appropriate.
  • Work proactively and effectively with cross functional teams (e.g., Treasury, Accounting, Legal) and external advisers on a variety of projects as required.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years with a mix of Big 4 Accounting/Law Firm and corporate tax department experience
  • CPA, MST, JD, or other advanced degree strongly desired
  • Firm technical knowledge of US international tax and broad understanding of non-US international tax
  • Proven history of cross border planning and restructuring (e.g., taxable and non-taxable reorgs, asset transfers, repatriation)
  • Proven history of leading high impact, complex international tax projects
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with ability to build relationships
  • Demonstrated history of team management and mentorship
  • Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $221,500 to $337,800.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
