PSC is looking for a SENIOR CONSULTANT to join our energy and environment team. In this role, you will engage in a variety of natural resource management and environmental policy projects. You will work with clients to provide research, strategic counsel, and thought leadership related to local and state policy. Senior consultants also manage projects, facilitate meetings, produce reports and other client deliverables, as well as contribute to sales in a supporting role.

Essential Duties

  • Conducts, translates, and analyzes public policy research, primarily in areas related to environmental and natural resource policy, including natural resource management, climate and adaptation, water and transportation infrastructure and affordability, environmental justice, and/or land-use planning
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently—including directing the scope of work, collaborating with team members to complete project tasks, and managing client expectations—resulting in high-quality project deliverables completed on time and on budget
  • Develops research reports, strategy documents, and other client deliverables
  • Uses strategic thinking to connect clients with relevant information and offer potential solutions
  • Plans and facilitates meetings, focus groups, strategic planning sessions, and other events
  • Cultivates new business by maintaining excellent client relationships, identifying project opportunities and prospective clients, meeting with prospects and clients, and writing proposals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant work experience
  • Strong policy research and writing skills with the ability to accurately interpret data and write concisely
  • Experience working on public policy topics with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience performing comparable duties
  • Strong competency using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with other software (e.g., Tableau, SPSS, R, IMPLAN, REMI, etc.) is desirable but not required

Can manage time effectively to complete required tasks, follow schedules as needed and prioritize important deliverables, assess how long each part of a deliverable will take and complete tasks within a well-defined time frame; can pivot when time frames change; is comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently

Has a sense of curiosity to acquire the information needed to do the job well; asks thoughtful and focused questions and listens sincerely to answers; has a growth mindset in support of executing PSC's mission

Work Environment

New employees will work in the office a minimum of three days per week for employee onboarding and team relationship building. Work is primarily performed indoors, with extended periods at a computer or on the telephone. The nature of the work involves multitasking, completing repetitive tasks, and having contact with the public and clients.

Compensation

  • Salary range of $88,280 – 116,970 commensurate with education and experience
  • Eligibility for company profit share
