Responsibilities

The AMER MARK Business and Operations and Risk and Finance team (MARK) coverage focus includes:

  • Front to back coverage of Markets businesses including Equity Derivatives, Prime Services, Fixed Income and Structured Products.
  • Five risk management stripes on the second line of defense reporting to the CRO including Market Risk, Liquidity, Model, Counterparty and Operational Risk.
  • Compliance teams that support Markets activities and selected rules and regulations related covering Markets activities.
  • Coverage for regional Finance function reporting into the local CFO.

The Senior Auditor will be part of the MARK Audit Team and is expected to play a leadership role in the coverage of SG AMER’s Prime Brokerage across various asset classes as well as Listed Derivatives activities (i.e. Futures & Options/Futures Commission Merchant – “FCM”). The Senior Auditor will be responsible for doing continuous monitoring and ongoing risk assessment of these groups, lead/participate in audits in the areas above, and be part of the pool that covers the broader scope of the team.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Working independently and responsibly on assigned tasks
  • Actively participating in all stages of the audit process: planning, testing, report drafting, and recommendation follow-up
  • Participating or leading periodic continuous monitoring meetings and annual risk assessments
  • Effectively communicating with auditees, developing a good relationship, anticipating and understanding any potential issues, and timely escalating when there is an issue
  • Analyzing assigned business processes, procedures, risks; and evaluating the internal controls to facilitate adopting a risk-based approach
  • Preparing high quality workpapers that support any findings and conclusions
  • Participating in department wide transformation projects, actively contributing to the changes and demonstrating readiness and willingness to apply the changes

DIVISION DESCRIPTION:

The Audit Division (IGAD) represents Societe Generale's independent internal audit function, comprised of over 1,200 professionals covering Societe Generale's global business and services in over 150 countries. The SGUS Audit Department (SGIAA) within IGAD is a group of about 70 professionals with diverse backgrounds and subject matter expertise based in the US, Bangalore, and Brazil, responsible for Societe Generale's businesses in the Americas region. Constituting the third line of defense, IGAD conducts independent audits of operational entities in an objective, thorough and impartial manner in line with professional standards. IGAD assesses the compliance of the Group's operations, the effective level of risk exposure and management, the adequate enforcement of procedures and the effectiveness and relevance of the permanent control set-up.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with general controls reviews, integrated audits between Business & IT auditors, pre-implementation reviews, Futures Commissions Merchant, Broker-Dealer, agency business, Prime Services, regulatory compliance related to futures and listed options.
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets businesses and understanding of Financial Services products.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management best practices and how they apply in the Financial Services Industry.
  • Familiarity with rules and regulations applicable to Markets and Investment Management businesses.
  • Knowledge of data analytics techniques.

Competencies:

  • Highly motivated and committed to lead and progress, willingness and readiness to provide help/support whenever needed.
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills, able develop professional relationships.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and self-development with a focus on growing within the Prime Services, futures and listed options space in an Internal Audit capacity.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills.

Education/Prior Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or on a quantitative field like Engineering or Mathematics
  • Preferred experience in or participated in reviews of Futures Commissions Merchants, Broker-Dealers, Prime Services, Agency Business activities, as well as regulatory compliance related futures, options, exchange related rules, etc.
  • Relevant professional experience or coursework

Plus:

  • Desire to pursue a relevant certification (CIA, FRM, CFA)
  • Languages (Other than English): French
  • Series 3

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
