Tasks

Position Overview

Responsible for daily processing of vehicle invoices from the PVMS (Porsche Vehicle Management System) system, coordinate activity between Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), Porsche Cars Canada (PCL), Dealers and their Floor Plan sources to ensure payments on all vehicles that come through port. Issue and maintain controls on Certificates of Origin. Coordinate the reconciliation process for Vehicle Accounts Receivable and Vehicle Inventory. Responsible for all PCL and PCNA vehicle related accounting, including reconciling transactions from PVMS to SAP, reconciling the balances of Vehicle Inventory in-transit, at port, and in the Company Vehicle Fleet. Responsibilities include general accounting, vehicle accounting/analysis, and audit preparation.

Roles & Responsibilities

Supervise daily management of Staff Accountants in regards to training, work review, and ensuring deadlines met consistently. Maintain various sub-ledgers to support general ledger accounts and reconcile the sub-ledgers to the general ledger to ensure integrity of systems and internal controls. Provide monthly reconciliations to Manager of Accounting for review and approval. Prepare journal entries for vehicle sales and cost of sales utilizing product line accounting; control and reconcile all vehicle inventory accounts; account for and administer Dealer Reserve (Facilities, CSI & Maintenance) payment system. Initiate changes in the vehicle system and PVMS to SAP interface on new system; monitor and audit changes made within the vehicle pricing system; enforce and strengthen internal controls within the vehicle sales and inventory areas. Coordinate and supervise the planning and performing the physical inventory counts; audit and review the daily invoice register and vehicles exits to ensure proper invoicing and exiting of the vehicles from the various ports; audit daily purchases from Porsche AG to ensure proper pricing. Analyze vehicle sales and cost of sales for reporting purposes; analyze various vehicle accruals and maintain the ABAP table within SAP; provide financial and accounting assistance to the Vehicles Sales, Customer Commitment and Warranty Departments on financial matters. Prepare the internal and external financial reports in IFRS; and supporting schedules including the preparation of vehicle unit schedules for Porsche AG for reporting of wholesale sales, retail sales, PCNA/PCL inventory, purchases, and dealer inventory. Guide and assist in the planning of monthly, quarterly, and year-end forecasts and budgets. Create, document, and implement process controls across multiple legal entities to include the identification of process efficiencies. Guide and initiate the implementation of various vehicle related controls. Prepare audit work papers and work closely with auditors in year-end examination. Analyze various department/accounting needs including planning and overseeing various special projects as desired by the Manager of Accounting. Perform periodic Audits of Port facilities to insure proper revenue recognition cutoffs and documentation of vehicle movements. Coordinate and administer dealer reserve payments totaling $50M+ quarterly, as well as the review and approval of operations’-initiated disbursement requests. Supervise dealer drafting on all vehicles and assure payment on all vehicles sold in North America; arrange other forms of payment when drafting is not possible; and coordinate those payments with bank, floor plan sources, dealers, and relevant PCNA departments to provide timely payment for all vehicles. Manage the preparation and distribution of system generated, manual invoices, and Tourist Delivery vehicle invoices, and approved refund checks. Execute “Hold Harmless” forms; prepare Certificates of Origin (COO); issue duplicate COOs and correspond with the Division of Motor Vehicles as necessary. Maintain control log for all COOs according to established control procedures. Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper reporting of all vehicle related items (Sales Ops, Remarketing, Customer Commitment, Logistics, Tax/Customs, Business Development, etc.).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications Include

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required
  • 3-5 years accounting, financial analysis or in related area experience is required
  • Extensive personal computer skills in Microsoft Office required including PowerPoint and excellence in Excel
  • Strong analytical skills is required; excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Must be proficient and proactive

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • 5-10 years accounting, financial analysis or in related area experience is required
  • CPA Preferred
  • Inventory Accounting experience preferred
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation experience preferred
  • Knowledge in SAP, Onestream, and/or Zycus preferred

Percentage of required travel: 5%

Schedule/Shift: More than 40 hour work week may be required during high volume periods

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
  • This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
