Scottsdale, AZ - General Associate Counsel

Mint Cannabis is looking for an associate general counsel to assist its management team with legal and business matters within the company. We are looking for a candidate with 2 to 5 years of transactional or civil litigation experience. The optimal candidate has experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, can identify legal issues and risks, is organized and self-motivated, and is able to handle multiple simultaneous projects. A JD from an accredited law school is required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Research regulatory matters
• Review and interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations from various US jurisdictions
• Assist with corporate strategy, real estate transactions and other business/asset acquisitions, licensing deals, employment matters, and supervision of outside counsel
• Prepare and assist with legal documents for general counsel as directed
• Conduct or assist with legal research for general cousel as directed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Organized with attention to detail
• Basic understanding of court and administrative proceedings and documentation
• Thorough understanding of lawsuit summaries, litigation files, and proper maintenance of all legal records
• Superior proficiency in administrative tasks
  
  

Education and Experience:

• A JD from an accredited law school
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
