Your Role

The Medi-Cal Strategic Planning and Performance team develops long-term strategy, annual plans, performance reporting and executive communications on behalf of Blue Shield Promise Health Plan. The team also manages initiatives that support the growth of our business and plays a significant role in informing executive leadership decision making by driving cross-functional collaboration and managing the development of executive communications. The Program Manager, Principal - Medi-Cal will report to the Senior Director, Strategic Planning and Partnership Engagement. In this role you will ensure timely delivery of effective executive communications, support strategic initiatives that improve operational performance and organizational growth and support development and implementation of the business’ multi-year strategy.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Operate at a strategic business level to ensure projects/programs are in line with Blue Shield of California strategic goals
  • Consult with all levels including senior management, make recommendations, and influence decision-making
  • Implement processes and procedures to ensure consistent delivery and high-quality content that reflects the ideas of the Promise Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leaders and supports corporate strategies and business objectives
  • Leverage cross-functional internal and external relationships to drive initiatives forward
  • Plan and implement multiple and extremely complex projects/programs spanning across business areas
  • Consult with senior leadership on communication strategies
  • Develop and manage effective communication strategies for senior leaders
  • Manage the development of executive-level materials and presentations, working with key stakeholders to gather appropriate inputs and facilitate review sessions
  • Support the cross-functional strategic planning process to develop and maintain Promise's strategic roadmap
  • Partner with a wide variety of cross-functional stakeholders throughout the Enterprise on a multitude of projects, planning efforts, and priorities in support of Promise's goals

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires experience creating C-Suite level PowerPoint presentations, and working with enterprise stakeholders
  • Requires knowledge of Medi-Cal/Medicaid and Blue Shield of California or similar health care organization structure
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, relationship building and facilitation skills
  • Requires strong negotiation skills and ability to successfully interact with all levels of management
  • Preferred experience planning and leading major initiatives/projects

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 136400.00 to $ 204600.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Due to the current public health emergency in California, Blue Shield employees are almost all working remotely. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
