Responsibilities
Responsible for preparing ingredients for food production according to recipes/directions for service
Follows production sheets, portioning and merchandising details as instructed by the Sous Chef/Junior Sous Chef
Tastes all food prepared for station to ensure flavor, freshness, and quality
Follows all recipes and guidelines while meeting production deadlines
Cut and clean a variety of fruits, vegetables, and proteins using a knife and/or cutting machines
Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management
Ensures consistent quality on all prepared items
Maintains a clean and organized station and prep area
Maintain kitchen equipment and check daily if there are ongoing issues, including equipment, cleanliness etc, and report to Cafe/Concept Chef
Follow proper rotation and storage of goods to prevent contamination and help ensure that food quality and wholesomeness are maintained
Requirements
Previous experience in a high-volume full service kitchen a must
ServSafe/California Food Handlers certification
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
The determination to work safely
Must pass SCREENING and BACKGROUND check
