Patent Paralegal

Our client, a leading innovator in the technology sector, is seeking a skilled Patent Paralegal based in San Francisco, CA. This hybrid role requires the candidate to work onsite at the San Francisco office two days a week and remotely for the remaining three days. This person will be responsible for coordinating U.S. and foreign patent filings and prosecution, collaborating with a diverse team, and ensuring all deadlines are met. The successful candidate will provide accurate information and research related to patents, while maintaining compliance with patent handling procedures.

**This role is a 6-month contract to start. It is not eligible for C2C, H1B transfer, or 1099 employment.**

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate U.S. and foreign patent filings and prosecution, collaborating with in-house and outside counsel.
• Prepare and file U.S. and PCT applications electronically, ensuring compliance with patent rules.
• Respond to inquiries about third-party and company patents, providing accurate information and research.
• Ensure all deadlines are met and perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Desired Experience:

• Minimum of three years of experience in both U.S. and foreign patent filings, with a strong understanding of relevant procedures and rules.
• Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail, especially under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with patent docketing systems like MxHero, Box, or Anaqua is a plus.
• Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
