The Opportunity:

We are in search of an Intellectual Property Paralegal/Patent Agent to support our client's legal department. This role involves US patent proofing, general IP paralegal/assistant work, and supporting the head of IP. This position suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings, are adept at handling multiple projects, and possess excellent communication and legal advisory skills.


Key Qualifications & Responsibilities:

  • Experience: Experience as an IP paralegal or patent agent, with a focus on US patent law.
  • Patent Proofing: Expertise in US patent proofing, including reviewing and filing patent applications, and coordinating with external patent counsel.
  • Docket Management: Manage IP docketing systems, ensuring all deadlines are met and maintaining accurate records of patent portfolios.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research and analysis related to intellectual property law, patent regulations, and industry trends.
  • Document Preparation: Assist in preparing legal documents such as patent applications, office action responses, and other IP-related correspondence.
  • IP Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing IP strategies to protect the company’s innovations and support business objectives.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant patent laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Training: Provide training and support to inventors and business units on IP processes and best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish strong working relationships with inventors, business units, and external counsel.
  • Team Integration: Ability to work closely with the head of IP, Thomas Beall, and other team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

  • Start Date: July 2024
