Music Instructor- Seasonal

Description


Plans and implements a general music class for children, ages 6 to 11 in a day camp setting. Camps include instruction in two and three dimensional visual art, drama, dance and music, radio, video and creative writing.


Job Summary


  • Collaborate with other Arts Camp Staff
  • Attend to the health, safety and discipline of campers at all times, adhering to all Health Department protocols
  • Manage supplies and maintain an organized and safe classroom
  • Conduct well organized, age-appropriate classes and execute final sharing
  • Maintain positive customer relations with campers and their parents
  • Perform administrative tasks that support the efficient operations of the program


Qualifications


  • College degree or completing a degree in the arts, education or related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to cooperate and collaborate with other artists
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Prior camp experience and experience teaching children


Availability


You must be available Monday through Thursday to work. Camp season runs June 12 to August 4 with a week of training before camp begins.


Weekly hours: Monday through Thursday, approx 9:30 to 3:30 pm


Rate


Starting at $18/ hour

This is a seasonal summer position.
