Overview
The State of VT Military Department is looking for personnel to assist the VTNG in the scheduling and operation of live fire ranges and training areas for all state of VT NG facilities, to provide fire desk operations, range operations, automated target repair. This position will be in direct support of soldiers daily training needs, their safe movement within training areas and ranges. Position will require travel for training initially and continuing education. Tasking and Training will be directed by the district facilities manager and/ or sustainable range program coordinator.
As of July 14, 2024 the step 1 rate for pay grade 20 will be $22.49 per hour.

Environmental Factors
Work is performed at State of Vermont and Federal National Guard facilities. An incumbent often works near or with hazardous materials, including ammunition, and exposure to loud noises. An incumbent must be able to climb ladders and lift equipment and materials weighing as much as fifty pounds. Work is performed in all kinds of weather. Some work outside of normal working hours may be required, including travel and overnight stay.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Military service or experience in logistics, or facilities maintenance.
Special Requirements
Candidates must obtain Range Operations Course Certification, Level II range safety Certification and the Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) for successful completion of original probation. These certifications and clearances are a condition of employment.
