The Marine Corps is looking for highly qualified college graduates and full-time enrolled college students to apply to our premier leadership development course known as OFFICER CANDIDATES SCHOOL.


Officer Candidate School provides attendees with elite leadership and military training. This course is designed to develop and evaluate your abilities to lead large groups of your peers, while evaluating your physical fitness and academic abilities. Should you successfully complete Officer Candidate School, you are then offered a management-level position with the Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant.

Basic Details:

- College Freshmen and sophomores attend (2) six-week leadership training sessions over two summers, while juniors attend (1) 10 week leadership training session over the summer before their senior year.

- College graduates (bachelor degree or higher) attend (1) 10 week training session with the opportunity to either go in the summer, fall, or winter.

- You will attend what Inc. Magazine calls "the best management training program in America" and test your leadership potential, physical fitness and mental prowess.

- You will earn approximately $3,200 (six weeks)/$5400 (10 weeks) plus room and board during the training.

- You are eligible for Financial Assistance ($1575 per semester stipend) and Tuition Assistance (Up to $8,200) after you complete one increment of training over the summer.

- Guaranteed aviation to those who qualify. The Marine Corps is the only branch that will guarantee you a pilot seat as early as your freshman year.

- If you choose to serve after you graduate from college, you will have the opportunity to go into one of the 20+ career fields offered making upwards of $70,000-$75,000 per year immediately upon entry.

- You also have the option to serve as a Reserve Officer. Reserve Officers attend 1 year of initial training, then following that are obligated to train only one weekend per month, and two weeks during the summer. Reserve Officers have the option to choose geographic location of their duty station OR a specific career field.


Qualifications:

- Full Time Student Status (Enrolled in minimum 12 college credit hours) or already graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

- If enrolled at Community College you must have the intent to transfer to a 4-year university

- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

- 1000 SAT score, 22 on the ACT, or 74 on the ASVAB

- U.S. citizen

- Medically fit to train at OCS

- Morally and ethically qualified

- Maximum Age: 34 years old (Age waivers granted to exceptional candidates up until the age of 42)
