Marine Assurance & Vetting Officer

Our client is a premier maritime transportation company specializing in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and petrochemicals, with a global presence and a fleet of high-quality gas carriers.

We are seeking a Marine Assurance & Vetting Officer to ensure vessel compliance and safety. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, Vetting, this role involves training crews, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to international regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal vetting preparation and crew training.
  • Implement corrective actions and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in safety campaigns and ensure SIRE/CDI compliance.
  • Verify Planned Maintenance System (PMS) processes.
  • Address environmental concerns and suggest preventive measures.
  • Analyze and close out inspection reports.
  • Liaise between vessels and senior management.
  • Assist in implementing regulatory changes and conduct incident investigations.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree with few years as a Second or Chief Engineer.
  • Minimum 30 months of gas carrier experience.
  • Technologically proficient and able to travel on short notice.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Team-oriented with cross-functional relationship skills.

Place of Work: Sailing onboard vessels and remote work. Travel within Europe and the west Atlantic on short notice required.
