Manufacturing Engineering Manager (MEM) coordinates activities related to sustaining and improving process yield, design/process changes, cycle time improvement, cost and safety. MEM leads procedure development, drawing reviews and act as an operations technical lead interfacing with other ME’s and Engineering and in-house Machine Shop. MEM generates staffing plans and helps to determine ME resource assignments to meet the needs of production. MEM develops talents and sets objectives, and measures performance to ensure the effective operation. Knowledge of military and commercial specifications for materials (aluminum/steel), pumps/compressors, protective finishing, heat-treating, non-destructive testing, ASME Y14.5M (dimensioning and tolerancing), MIL-STD-100 (engineering drawing practices), and AS9100 Quality System Requirements, ISO9001, ISO14001 desired. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience with lean techniques is helpful. MEM should conduct researches, recommends, justifies and oversees installation of capital expenditure equipment and oversees companywide facility & building maintenance, PM programs, and supports EH&S.

Will supervise all Manufacturing Engineers and fabrication departments. For specific titles and names, refer to the current Company organization chart.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manufacturing
Continuous improvement of product quality through training and lean techniques.
Analyzes and acts upon production trends (first pass yield, defects, capacity).
Reviews and approves routings and work instructions
Creates and validates tooling and fixtures.
Responsible for maintaining BOMs, including lead times.
Quality
Reviews and implements corrective action for machining related rejections or damaged material.
Audits and reports on the effectiveness of the implemented corrective action.
Participates in MRB and FMEA, Parker Lean Systems etc…
Participates in proposal meetings to discuss with other departments.
Participates in new product introduction meetings.
Participates in customer/supplier meetings and represent manufacturing engineering.
Engineering
Reviews and recommends drawing changes that enhance part quality, machining/manufacturing cost, or ease of manufacture (machining, assembly and test).
Ensure designs are manufacturable, schedules are achievable, develop risk mitigation strategies, and drive implementation.
Will support engineering with the development and release of Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Internal Test Procedures (ITP).
Other duties as assigned by manager
May require interaction with Customers and Suppliers.
May require travel - up to 10%.
