The Mammo Technologist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients service on his or her assigned unit.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the units/area/departments policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
Must provide radiographic/Sonographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
Must exercise professional judgement in performance of procedures applying principles of radiation protection.
Maintain patient records and files.
Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program.
Pursue continuing education.
Transfer patient to and from radiology.
In absence of supervisor, assume responsibility of department.
Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor.
Follow policies and procedures as set up by SEARHC Administration.
Assist in general hygiene of department and self.
Should be able to work well in situations of stress.
Must maintain competency in licensed modality.
Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Competent in teleradiology transmission.
Assist in invasive procedures and knowledge of these procedures.
Competent in sterile technique.
Competent in OR procedures and C-Arm operation.
Qualifications
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
Current ARDMS in Mammography
Experience Required
Able to perform all diagnostic exams as related to assigned modality.

Performs 100 mammograms per year documented per ACR/FDA requirements.
Secondary Functions
Attends department/organizational meetings, in-services, and disaster drills.
