Our top Am Law 100 client, a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Litigation Docket Supervisor in their Miami office. They offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

Position Summary

The Litigation Docket Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Litigation docketing for multiple office locations, making substantive docketing determinations and accurately identifying docketing deadlines for the benefit of our clients and the Firm. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervises and trains Litigation Docket Department staff, handles daily supervision and day-to-day operations of the Litigation docketing staff including scheduling and personnel issues
  • Develops, updates and revises firm docketing processes and procedures
  • Responsible for the overall quality control, daily maintenance and operation of the Firm’s docketing system
  • Leads the team to insure all docketing items are timely and accurately processed in accordance with firm policies
  • Assists with firm docketing
  • Reviews mail, calendars court dates, creates new database records and sets up files
  • Sends reminders to attorneys and secretaries for upcoming deadlines
  • Prepares calendar and docket reports for attorneys and staff
  • Reviews attorneys’ calendars, giving continuity to calendar dates and de-docketing database dates
  • Creates and maintain case management of the master docket calendar
  • Posts entries on the master calendar
  • Corresponds with attorneys and staff regarding case and court information
  • Handles advanced troubleshooting for more complex docketing issues
  • Manages docketing workflow to insure the work load is balanced within the department
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of client and firm matters
  • Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Prior Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of prior docketing experience with a major law firm is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in staff management, preferably in a multi-office environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal and State court procedural rules
  • Working knowledge of e-filing required
  • ProLaw and/or Aderant Expert experience a plus
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
