POSITION SUMMARY:This is an executive level, full-time position that provides legal counsel and services exclusively to the City of Branson. Responsibilities include the comprehensive oversight or delivery of all litigation matters affecting the City of Branson in coordination with the City Attorney, providing advanced professional skills related to litigation at a county and state level, research, investigation, preparation, and presentation of cases. This position works under the direct supervision of the City Administrator.

CLOSING DATE: Until Filled

WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Some after hours are required.

WORK LOCATION: City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.

Minimum Experience, Education, And Training Required

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree is required.

Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association is required.

Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a juris doctorate is required.

Evidence of passing the Missouri State Bar Examination is required.

Ten years of combined experience, practicing law in the public or private sectors is required.

Meaningful Litigation Experience Is Required.

Knowledge of labor relations, civil litigation, collective bargaining and municipal, state, federal, and constitutional law affecting municipal government is required.

Must be skillful in managing situations requiring diplomacy, fairness, firmness, and sound judgment.

A valid, current license to practice law in the State of Missouri and the ability tomaintainsuch licensure is required.

Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.

Preferred Experience, Education And Training

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in criminal law, business law, tax law, employment law, or real estate law is preferred.

Miscellaneous Requirements

Some supervisory experience is preferred.

Must be at least 21years of age.

Membership in good standing withThe Missouri Bar is required.

Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with the City Attorney and the City Administrator in achieving those goals.

Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers, taking into consideration most individuals' limited understanding of legal processes and procedures.

Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.

Must possess strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational and project management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.

Must possess a high degree of integrity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.

Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.
