LHH is looking for a Legal Services Assistant for a Direct Hire Position for a firm in Indianapolis.


Salary: $50,000 to $80,000 (negotiable for the right candidate) plus benefits.


Position Overview: Support our Employee Benefits attorneys in the Workplace Solutions group. The ideal candidate will excel in document production, embrace firm technology, and contribute to our high-performing team.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Administrative Support: Manage all aspects of administrative practice, focusing on exceptional client service.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and prepare correspondence, memos, and legal documents using word processing and document management systems.
  • Correspondence Handling: Process outgoing correspondence via email, mail, overnight delivery, or fax; arrange specialized mail or courier services.
  • Project Management: Monitor, organize, and prioritize ongoing client projects.
  • Travel and Meeting Coordination: Handle administrative tasks such as reimbursements and coordinate travel, meetings, and conference calls, including IT and facilities setups.
  • File Management: Organize and maintain electronic and physical files following firm guidelines.
  • Proofreading: Proofread and edit documents for formatting, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Telephone Assistance: Answer, assist, and direct telephone calls as needed.
  • Scheduling: Manage scheduling of meetings, appointments, and client-related activities on electronic calendars.
  • Database Management: Maintain client and matter information in integrated databases, complying with firm policies and procedures.
  • Client Relations: Maintain positive relations with clients, colleagues, and contribute to the team structure for overflow and specialized tasks.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of document production experience preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent clerical skills with strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation knowledge.
  • Client Service: Exceptional client service skills in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Learning Agility: Willingness and ability to learn multiple practice areas within the law firm.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, exercise sound judgment, use discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Diversity: Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals across all offices.
