Junior Test Engineer

Position Summary: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will assist in the development and execution of test plans, creation of test cases, and will work closely with senior engineers to ensure the quality of software products. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of comprehensive test plans to ensure software quality.
• Design test cases based on user stories and requirements to verify functionality, performance, and security.
• Deliverables: Test plans and test cases.
• Execute test cases, both automated and manual, to identify software defects.
• Document and track defects, and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
• Deliverables: Defect reports and status updates.
• Support the automation of test cases using appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Assist in maintaining and updating automated test scripts as necessary.
• Deliverables: Automated test scripts and test results.
• Maintain clear and detailed documentation of test cases, defects, and test results.
• Contribute to the creation of user manuals and other technical documentation as needed.
• Deliverables: Documentation of test cases, defects, and user manuals.
• Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on processes and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to improve testing processes.
• Deliverables: Process improvement suggestions and implementation.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Communicate effectively to ensure alignment and understanding of testing activities.
• Deliverables: Clear communication and collaboration records.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Up to 2 years of experience in software testing or a related field.
• Exposure to test automation tools and frameworks is a plus.
• Basic understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C#.
• Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Experience with test automation tools.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.

Compensation And Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $81,350 to $117,200 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
