Junior Legal Assistant, Intellectual Property

AMLaw 100 firm has an immediate need for a Junior Legal Assistant to support their growing Intellectual Property group in West Los Angeles. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to a team of attorneys and paralegals and must have superb organizational and communication skills, a strong work ethic, and at least 1+ years of experience in the Intellectual Property field.

Responsibilities include:

• E-filing with state and federal courts
• Conducting USPTO searches
• Managing attorneys' calendars including coordinating travel arrangements for attorneys and clients
• Entering billable time for attorneys and paralegals and processing expense reports
• Acting as gate keeper - answering phones and replying to emails
• Maintaining electronic and physical files
• Preparing, revising, and redlining various legal documents

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• 1 - 3+ years of experience supporting Intellectual Property attorneys, experience with patents is a big plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication, a strong work ethic, and proactive approach to work

Compensation range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience.
