Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Communications Specialist to plan and produce both internal and occasional external messaging about changes to our current services and the introduction of new ones. The purpose of this position is to work closely with the Director BP Communications, DTI, to develop and provide communication planning, content, and resources for both Global DTI and employees.


To be considered for the role, you need to be an excellent communicator who’s capable of digesting highly technical principles into simple terms understandable to a non-technical audience.


Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Coordinate, write, edit, design, manage, and publish content across various channels (intranet, email, etc.). This includes email campaigns, internet articles, how to guides, etc., presentations, digital signage, and printed materials.
  • Collaborate with DTI change management, project managers and a variety of stakeholders on all aspects of communication projects.
  • Represent Global DTI in cross-functional meetings.
  • Work with Global DTI and Global Communications colleagues and project managers to develop communication strategies for Global DTI projects.
  • Execute communication plan items for internal Global DTI projects and support operations.
  • Manage Global DTIs intranet pages.
  • Define processes for outage and maintenance notifications.
  • Support Global DTI Town Hall meetings and support Global Communications events.
  • Partner with colleagues across Global Communications on complex projects (video production, campaigns, digital marketing, creative studio, regional communications, etc.).
  • Utilize analytics and metrics to assess engagement and success within a cycle of continuous improvement.


Requirements / Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Communication, or a related field
  • Experience in a Communication Specialist role, preferably for an IT or healthcare company or role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT concepts.
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written), interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional and geographically & culturally diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to present, explain and simplify complex technical topics, problems, and alternative solutions to others.
  • Experience planning, developing, and executing communications within a strategic project framework.
  • Experience planning and developing internal campaigns for technical products and services.
  • Technical writing experience for communicating complex technical processes and systems for diverse audiences with varying ranges of technical experience is a plus.
