Suiter Swantz IP is expanding our staff and is seeking to hire an Intellectual Property Paralegal specializing in patent and/or trademark services. Suiter Swantz IP is an intellectual property boutique law firm located in Omaha, Nebraska and includes approximately 30 employees. Preference to candidates with paralegal experience working on trademark and patent matters, and preference to on-site work in Omaha, Nebraska, but will consider remote candidates with demonstrated experience related to trademark and patent matters.  This position will report directly to the Firm’s Paralegal Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file documents relating to U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution and maintenance.
• Effectively maintain clients’ domestic and foreign patent portfolios, including docketing new cases and maintaining internal files.
• Provide exceptional oral and written communication to clients and foreign associates.
• Conduct relevant research of patent filings and log pertinent information using specialized computer database for timely reminders and docket and monitor due dates for all patent and trademark matters.
• Assist Attorneys with preparation of legal documents, filings, and correspondence related to trademark and patent matters. 
• Additional responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-3 years of paralegal experience.
• Knowledge of USPTO and WIPO procedures and filing is desirable.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Professional demeanor is essential for this position.
