General Purpose

Under supervision of the Health Information Management Supervisor, the Health Information Specialist I will support Health Information Management and Clinical teams by demonstrating knowledge of specialty referral processes and basic Health information Management responsibilities. This position will ensure that patients receive exceptional customer service and communication regarding requests, records and referrals via phone, patient portal communications and in person.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in customer service preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and the various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility.
• Basic knowledge of the E.M.R and clinical templates preferred.
• Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style.
  
  

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour; DOQ

Bonus: $5,000 geographic pay incentive; paid out annually at $152.38 per paycheck
