Our client, a public software company, is looking for a Head of Commercial Legal to join their team near Redwood City, CA. This position will report directly to the General Counsel, with high visibility across the C-Suite and business executives. This client is seeking individuals with deep commercial experience across the tech industry and a track record of leading complex negotiations. This candidate will have the opportunity to build and scale a commercial team within a growing, successful tech company, with immediate hiring plans for the team.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage, grow, and train commercial legal team, ensuring high performance and capability in handling complex legal matters.
Handle and oversee complex negotiations, demonstrating expertise in crafting strategies that protect the company's interests while facilitating growth.
Provide strategic legal guidance on commercial contracts, partnerships, and transactions.
Develop and implement legal policies, playbooks, templates, and best practices to streamline operations and mitigate risks.
Requirements
J.D. required
7+ years of legal experience, preference for SaaS and/or AdTech industry experience
Prior experience managing 1 or more attorneys
Proven capacity to navigate high-stakes negotiations and intricate legal matters
