Our growing political public relations firm is seeking a Government Affairs Associate. This is an in-person position in Denver, Colorado. Our firm serves a diverse array of clients and works on government affairs projects at the federal, state, and local levels. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding in both the political world and the broader public relations space with experience in and/or extensive knowledge of federal and state government processes and policy research. Our projects require driven, detail-oriented critical thinkers with a passion for federal and state politics and communications. Any candidate should be eager to learn and grow in their role with a desire to expand their skillset.
JOB DETAILS
· Support government affairs projects and staff
· Preparing correspondence and materials for clients
· Critical thinking to handle challenges as they arise and anticipate future client needs
· Assisting with and facilitating a successful line of regular communication with clients
· Researching and analyzing information to enable strategic decision-making
· Developing political and government affairs strategies and materials
· Facilitating a successful line of communication between multiple entities
· Regularly reporting project status and updates to team members
· Assisting with business development
· Assist with firm administrative duties as assigned
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
· Strong understanding of both policy and politics at the federal, state, and local levels
· Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
· Self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task, initiate projects and prioritize
· Self-sufficient and able to operate on quick turnarounds with limited instruction
· Able and willing to ask questions as needed
· Interpersonal skills that enable collaborative working relationships with fellow employees and demonstrate the ability to follow through on projects in a timely manner
· Able to receive constructive feedback and make adjustments as needed
· Confident personality and be comfortable working in high-energy, high-pressure, and quick-turnaround situations
· Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in political science, government, international relations, or related field
· Working knowledge of the federal and state political systems
· Some evenings/weekend work as well as overnight travel will be required
· Must be discreet, professional, and possess the ability to keep information confidential

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
