Position Overview: Asset Manager looking to hire within their Compliance Department which will play a huge part in overseeing employee personal trading activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position involves managing the day-to-day operations of the personal trading system, conducting data validation, addressing policy violations, and assisting with compliance testing across various areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Personal Trading Activities:
  • Set up users in the personal trading system (FIS Protegent PTA) and update user data as needed.
  • Pre-clear employee personal trades to ensure adherence to firm policies.
  • Establish electronic data feeds with relevant broker-dealers for efficient data management.
  • Conduct daily data validation to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Address violations and potential violations of the firm’s Personal Trading Policy promptly.
  • Manage the quarterly certification process for employee personal trading activities.
  • Respond to ad hoc inquiries regarding employee personal trading.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing during the implementation of personal trading system upgrades.
  1. Compliance Testing:
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to test policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct testing related to Investment Company Act Rule 38a-1 and Investment Advisers Act Rule 206(4)-7.
  • Specifically, test compliance in areas such as:
  • Advertising and Marketing Materials
  • Business Continuity Planning
  • Electronic Communications
  • Derivatives Trading
  • Trading Practices
  • Valuation of client holdings and fee assessment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
  • Experience with personal trading systems, preferably FIS Protegent PTA.
  • Knowledge of compliance testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
