The Government Relations (GR) intern will play an important role in supporting Garrett’s growth in a fast-moving industry influenced by strong policy changes. In this role, the GR intern will monitor policy developments important to Garrett (may include hydrogen fuel cell vehicle mobility, e-vehicle regulation, emissions and climate focus areas) and follow up with internal and external stakeholders. He/she will focus on the US market, though the assignments might include outreach in Europe. He/she will help to define a strategy to promote Hydrogen mobility in the US and support the process and the objective to obtain R&D funds from the federal and state governments in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor policy developments within the US and analyze them for business relevant information
  • Support the process of receiving government funds for R&D within the US
  • Help define a strategy to support Hydrogen mobility in the US, including stakeholder mapping

Required Background

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in progress or completed. Focus on business, environmental science, sustainability, political science, international relations or other related area is highly desirable
  • Strong writing and presentation skills with proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to manage projects autonomously
