Fiscal Coordinator

The National Center for Families Learning, a private nonprofit organization located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Fiscal Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Accounting, the Fiscal Coordinator assists with the Organization's accounts receivables and payroll processes, and with classifying and recording financial transactions to ensure the financial records of the organization are accurate. Performs routine financial calculations and general ledger duties. Serves and performs as a viable member of the Families Learning Conference team. Preference will be given to candidates living in the Louisville, KY area.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with Accounts Receivable, including generating simple invoices and posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare payroll submissions to outside payroll vendors twice per month. Maintain benefits information and deductions for each employee. Prepare payroll-related reports.
  • Prepare monthly salary allocations based on timesheets.
  • Assist in the management of registration for the annual Families Learning Conference, including coordinating grant-funded registrations and recording offline payments. Staff registration desk at the conference.
  • Prepare general journal entries.
  • Maintain program code manager forms and chart of accounts.
  • Maintain NCFL's Amazon account.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to integrate cross-program activities and functions.
  • Follow all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested and required.

  • Ability to travel to and work at the NCFL annual conference, both out of State and overnight.
  • Maintains awareness of current professional information in the fields of activity undertakes regular and ongoing efforts to maintain competencies in the skills and incorporates new knowledge and skills on the job.
  • Share pertinent information with the supervisor/manager about work progress, successes, concerns, and other issues that may have an impact on the services intended for families.

  • The ability to travel on an as-needed basis. Travel requirements will be minimal.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree desired, not required, in related field such as Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, etc.
  • Prior experience assisting in managing funding and/or budgets, preferred.
  • Prior experience assisting in financial reporting, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Expertise in database and spreadsheet management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • The ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate keyboard including some reaching requiring consistent use of hands and arms.

Salary range $40,000-$50,000
